Water utility developments

Due to the dynamically developing economy of Debrecen and the population growth generated by it, it is essential to develop the city’s water utility network. The team responsible for water utilities, formed within DIF, participates in the smooth implementation of development needs by performing project management tasks.

The team manages the project from the preparation phase to the turnkey handover. During this time, they prepare the necessary documents, create schedules, determine critical processes, conduct financial monitoring, organize and oversee the construction activities, and coordinate with authorities, service providers, city and state companies (Debreceni Vízmű Zrt., DKV Zrt., Debreceni Vagyonkezelő Zrt., Opus Titász Zrt., MÁV Zrt., MKIF Zrt.).

Water utility developments encompass urban water treatment plants and supply networks, wastewater collection networks and treatment plants, as well as combined sewer systems. To protect the water balance and optimize the use of water resources, a new water utility component will be developed, incorporating a greywater supply network.

Thanks to the developments, the water sources, waterworks, and drinking water supply network will be renewed and expanded. The water tower will be renovated, and the supply network will be expanded, increasing supply security and the quality of service.

After the developments, the existing wastewater treatment plant and its connected network will be suitable for handling the wastewater treatment needs of a city with nearly 300,000 residents, including surrounding settlements and developed industrial zones, in a cost-effective manner. The development will not only connect the eastern and southern parts of Debrecen to the existing network but will also address the wastewater management of industrial parks. The capacity of the wastewater treatment plant will be significantly increased, and the reception and treatment of industrial wastewater will also be feasible.

Protection of groundwater and the reuse of treated wastewater.
Greywater, a mixture of surface water as diluting water and treated wastewater, can be used by factories in the two economic zones during their technological processes, thereby significantly reducing the consumption of drinking water.

A szennyvíztisztító telep kapacitása nagyságrendileg kerül fejlesztésre, valamint az ipari szennyvizek fogadása és tisztítása is meg tud valósulni.

A fejlesztéseknek köszönhetően a vízbázisok, a vízműtelepek és az ivóvízellátó hálózat is megújul és bővül. A megtörténik a víztorony felújítása, és az ellátóhálózat bővítése, az ellátásbiztonság és a szolgáltatás minőségének a növelése mellett.
